At Tri-County Technology we consider our customers as family. We prefer to help you help yourself. Therefore, here are a few things you can do proactively to keep your computer running at full speed. Performing these things on a monthly basis will keep you running pretty smoothly. In addition, upgrading your internet browser to the latest, currently Internet Explorer 8, is a minimum. Give some alternate browsers a try as well: Firefox / Opera / Safari

Cleanup

Clean out unneeded files. Use a tool like Ccleaner to clean up your hard drive.

Patch

Make sure your Windows Operating System is staying updated. Visit Windows Update to be sure or load the newest updates.

Run an online virus scan

Laptop Damage
Should you spill any liquid or beverage in your laptop or netbook, all is not lost. As quickly as possible, remove the power cord, and then the battery. Your immediate goal is to remove all power sources before anything shorts out. Then give us a call. We have a great track record of drying and cleaning laptops when power has been removed quickly. Should the unit be too far damaged to repair, typically we can still perform a motherboard replacement, for well less than the cost of a new laptop. And no matter what, we can always recover your data. So don't throw that laptop out! We can retrieve pictures, music, movies, documents, you name it.
